CMU or Capital Medical College is currently known to be the second established medical college in Beijing. The university was founded in the year 1960 and it currently ranks among the top universities of the country as well. It is also one of the key institutions of the municipal corporation of Beijing. The founding president of the university was Professor Wu Jieping, who was also a world-famous urologist. The professor was also a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Engineering.
